Foundayo contains orforglipron, a GLP-1 receptor agonist licensed in the UK for weight management in eligible adults when used alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity.
Foundayo is supplied as a film-coated tablet taken once daily. It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food, and without specific water or fasting restrictions.
Orforglipron acts on GLP-1 receptors in the body. GLP-1 is a naturally occurring hormone involved in appetite regulation, food intake and blood glucose control.
When prescribed for weight management, Foundayo is used alongside dietary changes and increased physical activity to support weight loss and long-term weight management.
For weight management, Foundayo is licensed for adults with an initial BMI of 30 kg/m² or above, or a BMI of 27 kg/m² to below 30 kg/m² where at least one weight-related condition is also present. Examples include prediabetes or type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, dyslipidaemia, obstructive sleep apnoea or cardiovascular disease.
Your medical history, current medicines, BMI and treatment goals must be reviewed by a prescriber before any prescription-only treatment is supplied.
Foundayo may not be suitable for everyone. Your treatment will be reviewed by a qualified clinician before it is prescribed.
Tell your clinician before taking Foundayo if you:
Pregnancy: Foundayo should not be used during pregnancy. If you are planning a pregnancy, speak to your clinician. Treatment should be stopped at least three weeks before attempting to become pregnant.
Breastfeeding: Foundayo should not be used while breastfeeding.
Oral contraception: Foundayo may reduce the effectiveness of oral hormonal contraceptives. Additional barrier contraception or a non-oral method may be recommended for 30 days after starting treatment and for 30 days after each dose increase.
Always tell your clinician about any prescription medicines, over-the-counter medicines, supplements or herbal products you are taking.
Always take Foundayo exactly as prescribed by your clinician.
Treatment normally begins with 0.8 mg once daily for 30 days. Your clinician may then gradually increase your dose depending on your response and tolerance.
If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Do not take more than one dose in the same day.
Do not change your dose or stop treatment without speaking to your clinician.
